About

Hi there! I bet you are new here. How about subscribing to my RSS feed? Thanks for visiting!

Hola! This blog is a voyeuristic look into my life as a social artist (No, you can forget about the sexy, juicy bits.), and my thoughts on social interactions. Using psychology, evolutionary biology, and plain common sense, this blog is an ambition to:

  • Enhance your social life.
  • Provide an understanding of social dynamics.
  • Give an insight to human behaviour.

In the process, if you become a happier person, then my job is done. To kick-start, here is a post that might give you an idea of what to expect:

Fear And How It Holds Us Back

History.

Cyrano was a name chosen by a friend of mine, who had suggested that I needed a new identity, after I told him about the changes I was making to my social life. The name was taken from Cyrano de Bergerac, after a French swordsman, who was also a writer and poet.

I was an awkward child. My parents disallowed me from playing with the other kids, because of my asthma condition. I spent a lot of time alone, and books were the only thing I could turn to. I never really became anti-social, though I found it hard to express myself with people.

Time passed, I grew up, and I remained this way until my University days. I never went out to socialise with people; I didn’t know how. I tried starting conversations with my classmates, but it always died down after a while. I had friends, some of whom I am still very close with, but I was never happy with my life. It was in one of those lonesome University vacation nights that I chanced upon a book that promised to save my social life. I read profusely, even more enthusiastically than I did with my fiction books. When I was done, I searched for more. This search, for knowledge that I never knew existed, led me down a path of self improvement. But that was not enough. I had to get out there and do it. And that was when life became fun.

Today, my life is different from what it was before. I do not consider myself a guru of any sorts. I am still a student of life, and will always be. I am constantly out there, experimenting with new theories and getting to know more people. But I hope that my experiences and knowledge about social dynamics will help you in your social life, and prevent you from going down the same path as I did. If you are already on that path, don’t fret. There is still time to change it. Just be willing to push yourself. Get out there, and have fun. Be a social artist.
